WTB has a new saddle designed to act as a carry handle for electric bike.
The Devo, launched at theSea Otter Classic in California, has a cut-out at the rear of the saddle, designed to help the rider lift or push the bike, either on the trail – WTB seems to be pitching this for eMTB use – or in transport.
It's built with a new Fusion Foam base for a specific level of flex. The former consists of a flat nose, for comfort when perching weight far forwards, which widens for sit-bone support. The rear is rounded to keep you from catching your shorts on the descents.
The additional weight of e-bikes creates new challenges when it comes to lifting your bike onto a rack, moving it around the garage, or hoisting it over rocks and roots on unrideable sections of trail. The Devo saddle solves this problem with its patented Pickup handle, which aids in lifting or pushing an e-bike in both transport and on-trail situations while remaining completely unnoticeable to the rider while pedaling
